Welcome to Schedules Direct

Schedules Direct is a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate the public about the benefits of Open Source Software and other free software, provide support functions for such software, and provide funding for research that facilitates the improvement or creation of Open Source Software and other free software for the benefit of the public at large.

The cost of membership is currently US$25/year, with a 7 day free trial. A 2 month membership is also available for US$6 for those who do not wish to commit to an entire year.

Your membership fees help us fund programs to help your favorite Open Source projects. In exchange, our members receive access to raw U.S./Canadian TV listing data for the Free and Open Source Applications they use. Those applications then use the data to provide things like PVR functionality, search tools, and private channel grids. For more information, please read about our membership benefits and what your money helps us do for the Open Source community on our ABOUT US page.

Welcome United Kingdom!

It has come to our attention that Metabroadcast will be ending their legacy RadioTimes XMLTV service and are no longer permitting OSS users to use their Atlas feed for DVRs and similar uses.

Schedules Direct was started by OSS leaders for OSS users when a similar thing happened in the U.S.

If there is anything we can do to help with the transition, please post in our forum.

A document to help MythTV users with the transition is available HERE.

Non-North American countries now supported!

After lots of discussion and analysis, we are now accepting members outside of North America. The SD-JSON service has had guide data for these regions, but we weren't sure how to deal with some international privacy laws.

Our Privacy Policy has been updated and simplified. We clarify that we are governed by the laws of the U.S. and Washington State. Members in other regions acknowledge that privacy laws specific to your region are not relevant to transactions with us.

We don't collect a lot of personally identifiable info anyway!

Information on International accounts

As many of you know, our SD-JSON service has data for many locations outside the U.S./Canada. We're currently providing the data on a best effort basis.

We're in the U.S. and use U.S. based servers. Due to a recent ruling in the E.U., U.S. companies are required to comply with E.U. privacy rules for customers in the E.U.

We've trying to find a E.U. lawyer to explain how we can legally have members in the E.U.
